Data validation report | Nov 2026
How predictive are Letterdrop signals of competitor opportunities and customers?
We checked the accounts Letterdrop flagged against the CRMs of 7 companies in different industries. The goal was to understand how much of a non-public CRM you can reconstruct from public data. Because the data is non-deterministic, our models rank accounts by confidence. Accounts marked High priority are more likely to be real opportunities in the CRM.
29% of High accounts are deals you can still win.
That's 10× a random list. Grey numbers are account counts. By company, High ranged from 16% to 42%.
Flagged accounts hold a big share of competitors' business.
Breakdown of the list
What would this mean for your list?
An average customer gets 72 High, 218 Med and 1,167 Nurture accounts on Day 1. Pick a tier and change the count to match your market.
How we measured it
Ground truth. 7 companies in HR, security, legal, sales, marketing and property data took part. We flagged accounts we thought might be evaluating them, and they confirmed each account's status in their CRM.
Sample. 9,277 flagged accounts, May to October 2026, ranked High, Med or Nurture by the live product.
Deal you can still win. On the day we flagged it: an open new-business deal, an open renewal, or a new-business loss in the past 90 days.
Matching. By company domain. Accounts not found in the CRM still count against us.
Coverage. Pipeline excludes stale deals. Revenue is as recorded in the CRM. Live customers: 30 companies tracking real competitors.
Limits. The 3% random-list figure is an estimate, not measured here. Deals missing from a CRM aren't counted, so all rates are a floor.
